Uber halts California self-driving cars testCompact Cars, Bridgend
Uber put it's test of self-driving cars on hold for the time being after regulators revoked the certification of the vehicles.
Passengers had recently been given the choice of a reserving a self-driving vehicle..
But authorities had threatened legal action if Uber did not get a special permission to test the cars.
Uber argued that they come with a safety driver and are not completely autonomous, the permit was not needed.
"We're now looking at where we can use these cars elsewhere, but remain 100% committed to California and will be redoubling our efforts to develop workable statewide rules," Uber said.
